    Near East College Students visit Çanakkale and Istanbul

    Near East College Students were taken on a 3-day visit to Çanakkale and Istanbul as part of the organisation of Republic of Turkey Embassy.

    According to the press info release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, Near East College Teachers Hüseyin Tufan, Mete Özsezer, Sultan Fersan, Faika Kaide, Bahar Özada and Saniye Fındık and 39 students from the NEC went on a visit to Çanakkale and Istanbul. It was pointed out that the students were provided detailed information regarding the history of Çanakkale and its strategic importance throughout the history. Furthermore, the students were also taken on a tour to locations considered as the historical symbols of Istanbul.

    It was pointed out that the visit to Turkey had begun by going to Çanakkale. On the first day, the students were taken to the Çimenlik Castle and Aynalı Çarşı, where they were informed of the historical events which took place at these locations. On the second day of the Çanakkale visit, the students were taken to: Kilitbahir Castle, Namazgah Tabyası, Seyit Onbaşı Monument and Mecidiye Bastion, Doğanlı Dere Hospital Martyrdom, Şahindere Martyrdom, Martyrdom Monument, Yahya Çavuş Martyrdom, Ertuğrul Koyu, Anzak Koyu, Respect to Mehmetçiğe Monumentı, Kanlı Sırt, 57. Regiment Martyrdom, Conk Bayırı and Çanakkale Epic Presentation Centre.

    It was expressed that the students had expressed that they had experienced the authentic environment of Çanakkale, feeling patriotic feelings, and intensive feelings of unity and nationalism. They said that they had found the opportunity to learn and experience many details of the historical events which took place there and that this visit was a visit never to be forgotten. As for the parents of the students of Near East College, it was pointed out that they were rather pleased with the visit which their children were taken to. They expressed how proud to have sent their children to the lands of Çanakkale where once great battles were held. They ended their words by expressing many thanks to the Near East College Authority and all parties which realised such a meaningful trip.
