East College Psychological Counseling and Guidance Unit organized a trip to Girne University for Year 12 students within the scope of “Professional Promotion” activities.

In the professional promotion trip aiming to inform the Year 12 students who are getting prepared for the university exam, the students were guided about the campus life in order to help clarify their goals, to increase their motivation, to visit the departments they want and targeted and to observe the university environment. The students then visited the pilotage and aeronautical engineering departments and aircraft and ship simulators at the University of Kyrenia, Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

    Flight Experience in Cockpit…
Firstly, the students who visited the Department of Pilotage and Aircraft Engineering used the flight simulator and examined the aircraft cockpit in Flight Simulation. The students had a realistic flight experience by taking off from the airport and using aircraft control systems. They learned about a real cockpit environment, how to take emergency steps, how to fly and land safely, and the names of some materials on board.

    Students at the helm…
Later, the students, who visited the ship simulation room in the Maritime Faculty, had all kinds of movements and maneuvers they needed to do when they got on the ship and had many experiences such as map reading, cruising, anchoring and berthing. The students who examined the ship and working conditions with the simulator, gained experience on the working principles of the ship.
